Wilderness itself is a seaside town in the heart of the Garden Route, situated a short distance east of George, along the N2 at the bottom of the Kaaiman’s River Pass. It is known for its long white sandy beach and lagoons.

The town experiences a mild climate with year-round rainfall and temperatures seldom drop below 10°C or rise above 28°C.The Wilderness Hotel is about a 45-minute drive to both Mossel Bay (west) and Knysna (east), and a little less than an hour to Oudtshoorn, further inland, so it’s perfectly placed for tour groups and individuals who want a base from which to explore the region.

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for 3 night’s over the festive season. What a lovely hotel, had a very nice stay. 2 tennis courts, squash court, putt putt, trampoline, kids park, swimming pool, spa, each room has a balcony. The breakfast is a definite WOW factor, never seen so much food at a breakfast bar at a hotel in South Africa before and so delicious. The hotel is very big, the location is ideal with many restaurants in 2 minute walking distance around the hotel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. At the pool they have waiters that assist with food and drinks, so convenient. Really enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will be back

We stayed at the Wilderness Hotel from 27/04/2017 to 01/05/2017 our stay
was great. I had a very painful back and could not walk, they supplied a wheelchair it helped me get around, otherwise I would have to stay in the room all day.
The food was great, there was a big variety of food to choose from, but their staff was the ultimate they were helpful, friendly and sometimes went beyond their call of duty, that was awesome. I will go back their anytime.

R75 Buffet Lunch Special is incredible value for money!! Staff are absolutely wonderful and food was great! Took kids for an impromptu Monday lunch after seeing your post about the SPECIAL pop up on Facebook and was pleasantly surprised! We had mushroom soup, chicken fillets, babotie, mini quiche, homemade bread and to top it off… the dessert waffle and crepes station had a heavenly variety!!! Thanks guys – you did a FANTASTIC JOB!!
